First show of the year for us. Rabbits weren't in the best condition, but we wanted to get dwon and support them. I won best Grey English and best Tri-colour English, but against no competition, so nothing special. Alex won 2nd best junior fancy but not much else. We will have to pick up from here to match last year.

Alex has been keen on Silver Fox since seeing them at Ken Lettington's stud. On Sunday he saw and bought a Silver Fox mini rex. We now have a new breed in our shed.
We will look for a doe to breed mini rex, and Silver Fox mini rex if possible. We may even try some tan mini rex.

The rabbits and chickens are all surviving the snow.
We have some eggs in the incubator, and hope to have some chicks this month. First attempt, so odds are not good, but have to try, especially after we lost three hens to a fox.
We have a few litters and more on the way. Looking forward to a successful year breeding and showing, and with a little luck Dad may share in a little of Alexander's success.

Another successful day for Alexander.
Smudge won Best Junior, 1st U/5, and third best in show at the South West Tan.
Michelle won Best Junior at the National Tan show.
Alexander has now won 9 Best Juniors out of a possible 13 for the year. Incredible!

In between visiting God-parents and God-children we visited Three Leighs.
Alexander took two adult and three young tans. The young black doe that went 2nd best in show last week, Smudge, took 3rd best in show at the one star show and 5th in the two star show. Smudge also took 2nd best fancy in the one star show.. She took best tan in both shows. A major mile-stone was that Alexander beat Ken Lettington for the first time. Ken is a major tan breeder and the man who

Alexander's best results to date. With NKF he won best black tan, with Smudge, and best "Any Other Colour" tan, with Tigger. At Medway he won best Black tan, again with Smudge. At both shows he won best tan.
In both Junior shows, he not only won best junior, but second best junior and third best junior, against a lot of competition.
At NKF he won 2nd U/5 months, with Smudge.
At Medway Towns he won Best Fancy, 1st U/5 months, and after a split decission with the judges, finally finsihed

I took Kelly Queen II and Angel to the London English. Queen and Angel didn't do much, but Kelly got first U/5 months Chocolate doe and 2nd U/5 months doe. The firs time I have shown at an English club show, so I was quite pleased.

A two day event with a new show each day. Alexander took two young tans, but both were in moult, so not the best chances. On day two the doe was 1st U/5 Fancy, and second junior fancy on both days, to different rabbits each day. Not bad all things conisidered.
Next week Dad is entering three English at the London English.

We have taken three tans to Guernsey, where Alexander's Uncle Richard is looking after them, so Alexander can show them in Guernsey for a few months. We will see how they get on.

Alexander took a few rabbits to the Cambridge Fanciers show, which was also hosting the East Anglian Tan Young Stock. Cocoa came first in the U/5 Chocolate doe class but came second to the U/5 buck in the East Anglian Tan show, but beat the buck in the Cambridge show.
Cocoa won Best Junior in both shows.
So, after a couple of poor results, Alexander now has 4 Best Junior awards, with three different rabbits.

We took Theodora, Simone and Speedy to Tonbridge, and Speedy came out on top this time.
Speedy won Best Junior Fancy, Best Junior, 1st under 5 months Fancy, 1st under 5 months Grand Challenge and 6th in the any age Grand Challenge. Supreme all round. Alexander has had more success in his two outings than I managed in 6 years showing as a junior! I guess that's tans over English for you, something I resigned myself to when we first set him up. However, I must also

We entered our first show on Sunday 1 March. I took Wispa who was 1st of 6 adult chocolate English in the Medway Towns and 2nd of 6 in the North Kent Fanciers.
Alexander had far more success with Simone (08/B/08162) getting best junior fancy and best junior.
We are looking for more shows in the area.

Alexander has two litters of tans, one with 3 blacks, one with 3 chocolates and a black.
I have 5 young English, two blacks carrying tri-colour and three greys.
I have waited a long time for this, in fact the best part of 30 years for grey youngsters. I am so excited, and have to pick them up every day.

Alexander's first litter is doing well. Three black 'n' tans, just over a month old now. They are looking great and we hope to have one or two quality show rabbits. There are three more tan litters due in the next week, one on 28 December and two on 1 January 2009.
Stephan has three litters due on 4 January, one grey to grey and two tri-colour English to regular English. These latter does should produce blacks, which will breed tri-colours. I have three chocolate
